The desktop app finds the agents you already have installed, writes the config each one needs, and takes it all back when you want out. It ships with a launch promotion: DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 at 50% off for two weeks. Tl;dr * AIHubMix Desktop 1.0.0 is
If you pay for more than one coding agent, you already know the shape of the problem. Claude has a five-hour window and a weekly one. Codex has a weekly quota with reset credits, and a session window on some plans. Cursor counts usage and spend limits. Each of
On October 27, 2026, Google DeepMind announced Genie 4, its newest world model. Unlike an AI video model — which hands you a finished clip — Genie 4 generates a world you step into: it responds to your keyboard every frame, you can rewrite the scene mid-simulation with plain English, and
GPT-6.1 Terra launched on 26 October 2026 at $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, half of GPT-5.6 Terra's input price and well under half of its $12 output price. The list price is only the starting point. Three things
GPT-6.1 Terra costs half as much per token as GPT-6.1 Sol: $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output, against Sol's $2 and $10. OpenAI released Sol in late September 2026 and Terra on 26 October, and the Terra launch post puts
OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on 26 October 2026, four weeks after Anthropic shipped Claude Sonnet 5.5. OpenAI's launch post set Terra against Claude Opus 5.5, but the coverage drew a different line. The Decoder called Terra "OpenAI's closest competitor to Anthropic&
Switching to GPT-6.1 Terra is a one-line change: set the model to gpt-6.1-terra. What happens next depends on which API route the request takes. On the Responses API, Terra follows OpenAI's rules: reasoning effort works, and temperature or top_p return HTTP
OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on 26 October 2026. It sits below Sol and Astra in the GPT-6 family, and it costs less than its predecessor, GPT-5.6 Terra: $1 per million input tokens instead of $2, and $5 per million output tokens instead of $12. The
OpenRouter and AIHubMix are both one-key gateways to more than 500 models, and on Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok they charge the same per-token price: the vendor's list price. So the comparison isn't about the sticker price. It's about what you pay
Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed is not a smarter model. Moonshot AI describes it as K3.1 Pro "with identical model capabilities", running at "approximately 2–3× the speed". At Moonshot's list price it costs exactly twice as much per input and output token.
Three launches converged on the same October week. On 22 October two anonymous models, Kibitz and Kalmia, appeared in Arena's Code Arena a few hours apart. Tokenizer tests tied them to Moonshot's Kimi and Alibaba's Qwen. A day later, Kimi posted a teaser of
Kimi K3.1 Pro is live in Kimi Code, on Moonshot's API as kimi-k3.1-pro, and on AIHubMix under the same ID. Moonshot gives it the same parameter constraints as Kimi K3, so code that already runs on K3 should move with a model-ID change

Kimi K3.1 Pro is the first update to Kimi K3, the 2.8-trillion-parameter open-weight model Moonshot AI shipped on 16 July 2026. It launched on 23–24 October 2026 in the Kimi app, Kimi Code and the Kimi API. Moonshot's launch post calls it

GLM-5.3 Prime is not a new model. It runs the same GLM-5.3 weights in a faster serving mode: Alibaba Cloud Model Studio's Prime mode, which promises 1.5 to 2 times the output speed of the standard API. The answers should be the same

Claude Code takes its configuration from JSON settings files and from environment variables. To run it through a gateway instead of Anthropic's API, you need two variables, ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL and a token, and usually a model. The variables are simple. What confuses people is where to put

Three cheap coding models shipped within four weeks of each other: DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (with its 1017 update), Claude Haiku 5.5, and MiniMax M3.1 Flash, which spent its first week as the anonymous Space Bunny. All three have a 1M-token context window and cost between $0.

MiniMax M3.1 Flash has five thinking levels and no off switch. If you don't pick a level, the model picks the deepest one for you. MiniMax's text generation guide says effort "defaults to max when omitted." That default is expensive in a way

MiniMax is retiring M2.5 and M2.7 on 18 November 2026, and the switch has already started. Since 19 October, the two older families have been closed to new users, and plan requests that name them are served by M3.1 Flash. If you're on pay-as-

In late September, a model with no maker's name on it topped OpenRouter's daily chart, ahead of DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, and stayed OpenCode's most-used model for five days straight. It was listed as Space Bunny Alpha, and it was free. That model

Codex keeps its settings in one file, config.toml: which model to use, which API to call, and how much the agent may do without asking. The format changed several times in 2026, and many guides from earlier in the year show settings that now stop Codex from starting. This

DeepSeek's lineup has an odd shape this autumn. V4 Pro 0813 is the bigger, pricier model: at peak hours its output costs $3.96 per 1M tokens, 3.3 times the Flash's $1.20. But the Flash has been retrained twice since Pro's August

Ten days apart, the two cheapest serious agent models of October 2026 arrived from opposite directions. Anthropic shipped Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7 at $0.10 input and $0.50 output per 1M tokens, pitched as the subagent that sits under Sonnet and Opus. DeepSeek answered on October

Most migrations start with changing a model name. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 did it the other way round: on October 17, 2026, DeepSeek kept the name deepseek-flash and changed the model behind it. Anyone calling deepseek-flash, deepseek-v4-flash, or deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp on DeepSeek&
